Welcome to your Queer Weekly Horoscope, a bite-sized look at the coming days broken down by your zodiac sign.

Have you ever seen one of those arthouse films that builds toward an emotional climax and then it just … ends? Maybe we see a close-up of a character’s face, or an enigmatic final image, and then the credits just start to roll. You’re sitting there in your seat and you’re just like, “Well, I guess the movie’s over?”

Well, the last week of Cancer Season ends on that very indie-coded note. The Sun spurns healing in a snub to Chiron, but likes oddball Uranus and loves fanciful Neptune. Mercury mimics some of the Sun’s social interactions, while Venus falls for the North Node of the future and flirts with lucky Jupiter on the side. Mars moves from Taurus to Gemini, urging personal development from both locations. The second Capricorn Full Moon of the season and year lights up curiosity. Time to get really weird, just before Leo season begins. Throughout, emotional cliffhangers abound.

But together, we’ll swim to the sequel that is Leo Season. If you know more of your placements than your Sun Sign alone (Moon, Rising, Mars, etc.), check their entries as well to get a full picture of your weekly horoscope.

Cancer
What the stars are up to:
  • The Sun is in your sign.
  • The Sun squares off against Chiron, forms a sextile with Uranus, and creates a trine with Neptune.
  • Your sign ruler the Moon travels through Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius.
  • The season’s second Full Moon in Capricorn opposes the Sun.
What it means:

Your 2024 Cancer Season comes to a confusing conclusion. It’s one of those enigmatic movie endings you’ll think about off and on for years after watching it, trying to make sense of an arresting image paired with almost no exposition.

Your sign ruler is the Moon, and your sibling sign Capricorn hosts two Full Moons during your season. You won’t experience the emotional release of a Full Moon in your own sign until 2025. Meanwhile, you’re figuring some stuff out while your emotions are separated from your sense of self. Healing is not on the table, though there’s a significant chance of weirdness this week. You feel very attuned to your own intuition, but it’s possible that you might actually be fantasizing about the future with a delusional level of confidence rather than tapping into your legitimate inner truth.

Float with the current and see where it takes you! We’ll see where you come ashore during Leo Season.

Leo
What the stars are up to:
  • Mercury and Venus are in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler the Sun is in Cancer.
  • The Sun squares off against Chiron, forms a sextile with Uranus, and creates a trine with Neptune.
  • Mercury creates a trine with Chiron and squares off against Uranus.
  • Venus creates a trine with the North Node and forms a sextile with Jupiter.
  • The season’s second Full Moon in Capricorn opposes the Sun.
What it means:

Cancer Season ends on an emotional cliffhanger just before your own time with the Sun begins. Healing? Not happening, but you’re definitely going to talk about it. You’re inspired by creativity, but it crumbles when you try to discuss your ideas with others. Your desires are focused on the future and your heart is ready to expand with affection, but the season’s second Full Moon pits your self-perception against your immediate feelings. Hours before your season begins, you’re assured by a message from your own inner intuition, but it’s tough to tell whether the signal is truly reliable or confusingly based on false hope. You’ll try to hold your act together, nonetheless. After all, your time in the spotlight is only a week away!

Virgo
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler Mercury is in Leo.
  • Mercury creates a trine with Chiron and squares off against Uranus.
What it means:

Time for some talk therapy! This week is all about healing, and you’re not interested in untested avenues of recovery. You already know how to solve problems, and now’s the moment to do it. Don’t let anyone else make you feel crazy for your perfectly reasonable wish to discuss emotions and articulate boundaries. Or even worse, don’t let them pull a disingenuous, partially admissive “I’m the problem, you’re perfect, and I’m so messed up” play while they keep treating you the exact same way. It’s okay — even admirable! — to get real about your experience.

Libra
What the stars are up to:
  • Lilith and the South Node are in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Venus is in Leo.
  • Venus forms sextiles with the South Node and Jupiter.
What it means:

While the South Node is in your sign, you remain affixed to your past. It doesn’t necessarily chain you in one place, but when you move, your history moves with you in a more noticeable way than it otherwise might. Circumstances repeat, old acquaintances send messages, and you just feel the burden of memory more heavily than usual.

This week, your sign ruler Venus creates a trine with the North Node, which represents the future. At the same time, Venus forms a sextile with the South Node. This reflects the way you’re experiencing progress this year: slowly moving forward while simultaneously dragging the past around. You can’t push on without accounting for your history; you must take stock of events that have affected you while you trek onward. Fortunately, lucky Jupiter deigns to give you a little bit of an advantage, clearing your path of obstacles and activating your powers of insight.

Scorpio
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler Pluto is retrograde in Aquarius.
  • The waxing gibbous Moon in your sign creates trines with Saturn, the Sun, and Neptune; squares off against Mercury; and opposes Uranus and Mars.
  • Mars creates a trine with Pluto.
What it means:

While the Moon moves through your sign, you focus inward to work on yourself. You’re not particularly interested in talking it out with anyone else, you don’t want to try anything new, and you’re certainly not in the mood to socialize. You just want to vibe with yourself for a day or so, and allow the solitude to soothe you. In the final moments of the week, just hours before Leo season begins, you catch a surge of energy to finish some tasks you’ve been avoiding.

Sagittarius
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler Jupiter is in Gemini.
  • The waxing gibbous Moon in your sign forms a sextile with Pluto, creates trines with Venus and Mercury, opposes Jupiter, and squares off against Saturn and Neptune.
  • Venus forms a sextile with Jupiter.
What it means:

You enjoy a productive Moon, though you ignore common sense and traditional wisdom to attain your results. You may or may not feel satisfied with your successes, especially if the methods you use to get them don’t really feel like you. Near the end of the week, attractive Venus casts eyes at your sign ruler Jupiter. Don’t be surprised if you notice people checking you out in public!

Capricorn
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler Saturn is retrograde in Pisces.
  • The season’s second Full Moon in your sign forms sextiles with Saturn and Neptune, creates a trine with Uranus, and opposes the Sun.
What it means:

You get a bonus Full Moon this season! It gleams at maximum brightness opposite the Sun early in the morning on Sunday, then moves from your sign to Aquarius about an hour and a half later. You’re in for a nice weekend on the whole, with amplified capacity for organization, innovation, and intuition. You’ll enter Leo Season from a strong position.

Aquarius
What the stars are up to:
  • Pluto is retrograde in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Uranus is in Taurus.
  • Mars passes through conjunction with Uranus.
  • The Sun forms a sextile with Uranus.
  • Mercury squares off against Uranus.
  • The waning gibbous Moon in your sign forms a trine with Mars and passes through conjunction with Pluto.
  • Mars creates a trine with Pluto.
What it means:

You’re motivated and you feel comfortable in your own mind. Expressing your inner purpose to other people might be a struggle, but hey! At least you sort of know what you’re doing. On the last day of the season, you’re imbued with a powerful boost of energy to accomplish major change. Ride the wave while you can! You might lock in so completely that you work overnight into the first sunrise of Leo season.

Pisces
What the stars are up to:
  • Saturn and your ruler Neptune are both retrograde in your sign.
  • Mars forms a sextile with Neptune.
  • The Sun creates a trine with Neptune.
What it means:

You and your retrograde sign ruler Neptune sail through the final watery week of Cancer Season in good cheer. You’re slightly less tapped into your instincts than usual, what with Neptune orbiting perspectively backwards, but that’s not always a bad thing. It gives you a bit of a break from the overwhelming enthusiasm of idealism and allows you to adopt a more practical mindset. Mars and the Sun both approve of your measured thoughtfulness, providing you with increased productivity and a breakthrough in self-insight.

Aries
What the stars are up to:
  • Chiron and the North Node are in your sign.
  • The Sun squares off against Chiron.
  • Mercury creates a trine with Chiron.
  • Venus creates a trine with the North Node.
  • Your sign ruler Mars begins the week in Taurus, where it passes through conjunction with Uranus and forms a sextile with Neptune. Then, Mars moves to Gemini, where it creates a trine with Pluto.
What it means:

Something deep inside you doesn’t want to accept the healing you’ve worked for, but you’re talking about it honestly anyway, at least. You’ve got to face facts in order to fulfill your yearning for the future. Your sign ruler Mars is making major moves this week. First, it sets you alight with creativity and fantasy. Then it moves from Taurus to Gemini and sets an enormous life change in motion. Keep moving forward! Some of your most coveted goals are almost within your grasp.

Taurus
What the stars are up to:
  • Mars and Uranus are in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Venus is in Leo.
  • The Sun forms a sextile with Uranus.
  • Mars passes through conjunction with Uranus and forms a sextile with Neptune. Then, Mars leaves your sign and moves to Gemini.
  • Venus creates a trine with the North Node and forms a sextile with Jupiter.
  • Mercury squares off against Uranus.
What it means:

After an immense surge of strangeness, Mars bids farewell to your sign and moves on to Gemini. You’re catching onto something important about your ultimate fate this week, and the weirder you get, the better you begin to know yourself. You’re expanding your boundaries internally, which conversely allows you to take up more space in social situations. When others ask how you’ve achieved the feat, however, you find it impossible to explain your process.

Gemini
What the stars are up to:
  • Jupiter is in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Mercury is in Leo.
  • Mercury creates a trine with Chiron and squares off against Uranus.
  • Venus forms a sextile with Jupiter.
  • Mars leaves Taurus and moves to your sign, then creates a trine with Pluto.
What it means:

You’re in the mood to gab about healing, but you don’t want to feel vulnerable yourself. It’s probably a good time to seek the latest gossip from friends, giving you an opportunity to dole out advice regarding situations that don’t concern you whatsoever! You’re likely to enjoy a lucky opportunity to do so when whimsical Venus links up with accommodating Jupiter. But speak thoughtfully: Whatever you say could have major consequences. In the last moments of the week, Mars launches off an overwhelming wave of change, pushing the plot forward just hours before Leo Season begins.
