Welcome to your Queer Weekly Horoscope, a bite-sized look at the coming days broken down by your zodiac sign.

Do you like to yap? Even if you don’t, you might find yourself unusually chatty mid-week thanks to Mercury’s friendly brush with Mars. Go ahead, get all that talking out.

Mercury opens the week with a move from Leo to Virgo, boosting the sign of the season to the zenith of their power. The First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius tries to harshen the week’s mood, fighting with many of the planets, but the Moon moves quickly and sour feelings will soon pass. Everyone is feeling conversational mid-week when Mercury makes friends with motivational Mars, only to be followed by a crisis of confidence when the Sun gets catty with lucky Jupiter. But again, that’s only temporary, and we’re rapidly moving on to better things. Sunday brings a surge of attractiveness when Venus and Jupiter join forces to help us all look our best.

Virgo is up first for this weekly horoscope, then we’ll proceed through each sign in order until the full list is checked off. If you know more of your placements than your Sun Sign alone (Moon, Rising, Mars, etc.), check their entries as well to get a full picture of your astrological forecast.

Virgo
What the stars are up to:
  • The Sun is in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Mercury moves from Leo to your sign.
  • Mercury forms a sextile with Mars.
  • The Sun squares off against Jupiter.
What it means:

Mercury is back home in your sign, and orbiting directly this time! With a sip of hydration from Mars in Cancer, you’re unstoppable. You’re in for an early morning struggle with some self-imposed limitations mid-week, but other than that, your fate is looking golden. Carry on doing your thing!

Libra
What the stars are up to:
  • Lilith, the South Node, and your ruler Venus are in your sign.
  • Venus creates a trine with Jupiter.
What it means:

At last, the end of this week brings relief from a long slog of heavy feelings! Now, it’s time to blossom. Maybe you’ll be flourishing in a ragweed type of way, which could possibly irritate others around you, but oh well to them. You’re blooming anyway, goddammit! Set aside some time on Sunday to enjoy yourself and your present circumstances. Heaven knows you could do with some contentment these days.

Scorpio
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler Pluto is retrograde in Capricorn.
  • The waxing crescent Moon in your sign opposes Uranus, creates a trine with Neptune, and forms a sextile with Pluto.
What it means:

One of my trans friends is strongly connected to a special date in September, her anniversary of coming out to herself. She celebrates this second birthday, as she views it, every year. (Happy Yourself Day, lovely! 💖) Astrologically, I think this probably means she gets two natal charts — one that’s correlated with her Scorpio season arrival on planet Earth, and another that corresponds to her Virgo season anniversary of understanding herself.

But for another person, their zodiac factory settings might have remained satisfying throughout their shift in self-understanding, and the notion of a new natal chart isn’t relevant at all. For my Scorpio/Virgo friend, it’s a holistic, big-picture thing — the intricacies of her bonus chart add color and nuance to the starter sketch provided by her first, and she comfortably cradles all of that complexity within her soul.

If you suspect that you, too, might have a second “birth” chart, you might consider taking a peek at it this week to see if it tells you anything interesting about yourself.

Sagittarius
What the stars are up to:
  • The First Quarter Moon in your sign squares off against Mercury, Saturn, the Sun, and Neptune; forms a sextile with Venus; and opposes Jupiter.
  • Your sign ruler Jupiter is in Gemini.
  • The Sun squares off against Jupiter.
  • Venus creates a trine with Jupiter.
What it means:

Finally, some astrological action for Sagittarius: prepare to feel conflicted! The First Quarter Moon in your sign is friendly with Venus, indicating some agreement between your emotions and desires, but it also brings discontent in the areas of communication, organization, self-perception, and intuition. This Moon is directly opposed to your sign ruler, Jupiter, so the potential for growth feels distant. Later, the Sun snags up discordantly with Jupiter (yuck), but then Venus becomes happily cooperative with your enormous boss planet. You might feel as if you’re outgrowing yourself — never a comfortable sensation — but at least you know what you want!

Capricorn
What the stars are up to:
  • Pluto is retrograde in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Saturn is retrograde in Pisces.
  • The waxing gibbous Moon in your sign opposes Mars; creates trines with Mercury, the Sun, and Uranus; forms sextiles with Saturn and Neptune; squares off against Venus; and passes through conjunction with Pluto.
What it means:

Your Moon is a bit complicated, but mostly pleasant. Motivation and desire may dwindle temporarily while the waxing gibbous Moon is distant from Mars and angry with Venus, but intelligence, organization, self-confidence, creativity, and idealism are all in excellent shape. By Friday morning, you feel emotionally prepared to cope with the constant necessity of change.

Aquarius
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler Uranus is retrograde in Taurus.
  • The waxing gibbous Moon in your sign creates trines with Jupiter and Venus.
What it means:

At the tail end of the week, the waxing Moon in your sign blesses you with excellent luck and a powerful dose of beauty… and that’s pretty much it for you right now. Enjoy!

Pisces
What the stars are up to:
  • Saturn and your ruler Neptune are both retrograde in your sign.
What it means:

Other than flickers of emotion while the Moon makes its usual rounds, approving, disagreeing, and extending peace to your sign ruler Neptune by turn, there's not a lot going on with you this week. Take advantage of the unsupervised alone time and feel free! You can relax, you can frolic, you can take a really long nap with no alarm set! Have fun.

Aries
What the stars are up to:
  • Chiron and the North Node are retrograde in your sign. (The North Node is always generally retrograde, that’s normal.)
  • Your sign ruler Mars is in Cancer.
  • Mercury forms a sextile with Mars.
What it means:

You’re still focused on healing and scampering toward the future with Chiron and the North Node in your sign. You catch a boost to your communication stats mid-week, when chatty Mercury becomes buddies with your sign ruler Mars. Take advantage of the extra eloquence to talk down any obstacles that may be hindering your path.

Taurus
What the stars are up to:
  • Uranus is retrograde in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Venus is in Libra.
  • Venus creates a trine with Jupiter.
What it means:

At the end of the week, you’re granted a boon of good fortune when your sign ruler Venus makes friends with lucky Jupiter. Consider performing the equivalent of emotional stretches in the days leading up to that happy moment, loosening up and getting limber before it arrives. You’re not actually in danger of a sprain, since your heart’s only metaphorically swelling, but the giddy delight might feel contrarily uncomfortable if you’ve grown accustomed to locking your feelings down in the meantime.

Gemini
What the stars are up to:
  • Jupiter is in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler Mercury moves from Leo to Virgo.
  • Mercury forms a sextile with Mars.
  • The Sun squares off against Jupiter.
  • Venus creates a trine with Jupiter.
What it means:

You might be seized with an urge to type out a few immensely long messages on Wednesday night. Go for it! Just hold off on sending for a couple of days until you have time to edit with a more taciturn eye. You may suffer a period of insecurity about all of the blessings in your life, temporarily feeling unworthy or undeserving of happiness, but it won’t last long. On Sunday, you’re scheduled for astonishing expansion in the realm of aesthetics. Get ready to look and feel good!

Cancer
What the stars are up to:
  • Mars is in your sign.
  • Your sign ruler the Moon travels through Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius.
  • The First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius squares off against the Sun.
  • Mercury forms a sextile with Mars.
What it means:

The First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius is kind of a meanie, beefing with the representatives of adaptability, responsibility, ego, idealism, and expansion. Instead of these things, it plans to infect you with an inescapable current of low-key yearning. Yikes! But as always, the Moon moves relatively quickly, and the unwanted emotions will pass. During mid-week, you are bestowed with incredible powers of yapping when talkative Mercury teams up with motivational Mars in your sign.

Leo
What the stars are up to:
  • Your sign ruler the Sun is in Virgo.
  • Mercury leaves your sign and moves to Virgo.
  • The Sun squares off against Jupiter.
What it means:

You’ve sheltered Mercury safely through its latest diabolical retrograde and back to safety again. Now, it’s time to hand the troublemaking little planet over to its favorite earth sign, Virgo. See you next time, asshole! You enjoy a few days of peace before your sign ruler the Sun picks a fight with generous Jupiter. Take a quiet day filled with gentle distraction to avoid falling prey to self-doubt. Your confidence will return shortly, and then you’ll be able to get back out there and continue expanding your horizons.
